Learn About the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) The Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) is the world’s most widely ratified human rights treaty, crafted to protect, empower, and enhance the well-being of children worldwide. Its 54 articles outline essential rights that every child should enjoy, covering areas such as education, health, and protection from violence and exploitation. These rights provide a foundation for children to grow, learn, and thrive in supportive environments.

Libya’s Commitment to the CRC Libya signed and ratified the CRC in 1993, demonstrating its commitment to upholding these fundamental rights for all children in the country. This commitment calls for a collaborative effort to build safe, inclusive, and supportive communities, ensuring every child, regardless of background, can flourish.

Through various initiatives, UNICEF works with partners in Libya to promote these rights and implement programs aligned with CRC principles, recognizing that supporting children’s rights is vital to a brighter future for Libya.
